For the first time ever here in New York State, we have the option of Early Voting – a nine day window to cast your vote prior to Election Day on November 5. Early Voting reduces barriers to the ballot box and empowers you, the voter, to make your voice heard, even if you can't get to the polls on Election Day.
Simply put: Early Voting allows you to vote when it is convenient for you!
We understand you may have some questions on this new process. Below are some FAQs that hope to provide more insight into this new process.
When is Early Voting?
Early Voting begins Saturday, October 26 and ends Sunday, November 3. All locations have the same hours (times located below).
What location do I cast my Early Vote at?
During that time, you can cast your ballot at ANY of the Early Voting locations.
If I choose to Early Vote, can I vote on Election Day too?
If you cast an Early Vote, you CANNOT also vote on Election Day on November 5.
If I Early Vote, when will my vote be counted?
All votes, whether cast during the Early Voting window or on November 5, will be counted beginning at 9 p.m. on Election Day.
What if I do not want to cast an Early Vote?
If you choose not to participate in Early Voting, cast your ballot on Election Day (November 5) at your usual polling place, as assigned by the Board of Elections.
